Of course, most of us only had PUP as their second choice (probably next to UP) when we were choosing which college to go into in high school. I, for one, didn't even imagine studying in this university until one of my friends asked us to try taking an examination here. I was planning to go to UP or UST if I could pass their entrance tests. But God had His plans; I wasn't able to take any entrance exam from both universities I had dreamed of going into.

​PUP wasn't my dream university. But I was destined to be here.

​The name of the university does not really have anything to do with a student's level of learning--that was what I've learned--neither the extravagance of its tuition fee. No matter how brilliant an instructor is, no matter how great a classroom's ambiance is, if the student does not want to instill to his or her own head the lesson's wordings, then learning is absent.

Not all UP students are intelligent; not all UST students are wise; not all Ateneans are rich... just like not all PUPians are activists.

So basically, all universities are of the same level. They only differ in terms of name, population size, quality of facilities and tuition fee. Realizing this fact, I have come to the conclusion that we, PUPians, must be the luckiest of all. We get to have quality education delivered by great instructors and professors for a cheap price. Too cheap, in fact, that it sometimes appear inequitable.

Good thing PUP is merely being just about that right. And good thing that I have taken PUPCET and passed it.
